wedding keepsakes…

I was recently asked to make a wedding keepsake, custom orders are always exciting, so I couldn’t wait to start designing. As I think I’ve mentioned before I absolutely love free motion embroidery, so this was an excuse to lower the dog feeds on my machine and get busy…

I wanted to include the bride and grooms name and the date of their special occasion, I also wanted to incorporate something growing with tiny buds which would represent their lives together, growing and thriving over time.

This piece is quilted on a pretty ivory floral cotton, (which makes an ideal 2nd wedding anniversary gift, as this is traditionally cotton), with a navy blue background, as this was the colour theme of the couples wedding

I also used a beautiful variegated blue thread from DMC to hand embroider the names and date.

I embroidered the love tree and tiny hearts, to add beautiful detail to this keepsake.

I’m so pleased with how this turned out, that I’ve added it to my Etsy Shop as a ‘made to order’ gift. Head over and give it a favourite or even share with someone who you think might like it. These make a lovely wedding gift, especially as they come framed, gift wrapped and with free UK delivery.
