The August Island Batik challenge was to create a mini quilt...
'A Miniature Quilt is a wonderful way to explore a piecing or quilting technique or make a pattern without a huge investment in time and fabric. They are defined as small versions of full sized quilts and range in size between 12 to 24 inches on a side to being no larger than 24 inches square'

I couldn't wait to tuck into the new collection 'Emperor's Treasures' and a gorgeous blender 'Bubbles in Raspberry' along with 'Sangria Precious Pinks'

The first step was to trace all the letters I needed in reverse onto Bondaweb, fuse them to my chosen pieces of fabric and cut them out.
Along with two gecko's
Can you guess what i'm going to spell out?
Any ideas?
I fused the letters to the gorgeous 'Silverado' backing fabric
With everything fused into place and the top quilt backed onto Hobbs Thermore, I used Aurifil thread to FMQ around each letter
I then went ahead and quilted my top quilt. Cut two backing pieces and created a super cute cushion with my mini marvelous quilt
Quilted cushions have such a cosy squidgy feeling about them - just gorgeous
