I got to use the new Spring 2022 collection 'Baroque', there are 20 different designs in this collection, I love purples and blues, so I was super excited to create a quilt using these beautiful colours.

I created my quilt using a new tool 'square squared' designed by Deb Tuckers of Studio 180 Design

I decided to make the biggest centre square to showcase this new fabric collection, so i began cutting a 6" square from each of the fabric, along with a few extras (my favourite ones)

I used Island batik white, grey and black solids to surround each coloured square

My cat got caught re arranging the squares :) :)

I decided to arrange the colours in the collection from light to dark

My quilt was quilted using Hobbs wool batting - why?

As this is a lap quilt, wool is ideal, as it gives amazing warmth without the weight 'the fibers breathes, allowing excess heat to disperse away from the body'

I absolutely love the cosy feeling this batting gives you, I hoping these photos really give you some idea of the depth and snuggleness (if that's not a word, it should be :)

I used the gorgeous 'Dots on Green Seeding' from the Baroque collection to back my lap quilt

Which leaves me with one thing left to show you... the finished result!
